If you are looking for the full New York experience then there is no better area to stay than Midtown Central. In the heart of Manhattan, this part of the city is typically what people imagine when they think of New York, endless crowds of people, neon lights and immense skyscrapers, the most iconic one being The Empire State building, you can’t miss it! It was once known as the world’s tallest building, although now it is the second tallest, but this has not stopped it from being one of the city’s biggest tourist attractions. You can take an elevator up to the top floor and experience magnificent panoramic views of the city by day or night.
If you find yourself needing a rest from walking around, then in the centre of Midtown you will discover the lovely Bryant Park. A great, green shady place to relax and enjoy a picnic, Bryant Park has free outdoor movies showing. Also the park offers yoga reading or fencing classes in the summer and free ice skating and a holiday market in the winter. There are several food and drink kiosks and free wireless internet in the park. Just in front of the park, and well worth checking out, is the New York Public Library. This is a grandiose building guarded by two large marble lions on both sides of the entrance. Inside you can admire its impressive architecture, long hallways and exquisitely designed reading rooms.
If you want an authentic American eating experience then we recommend you try Keen’s Steakhouse. With excellent dining and comfortable surroundings, this restaurant was first founded in 1885 and provides some of the finest cuts of meat money can buy; however they do serve a range of dishes, including many seafood specialities. This New York Chophouse stands out from the rest not only for its fantastic food, but also for its unique ceiling. Previous customers would smoke out of clay pipes after their meal, now the ceiling is decorated in over 90,000 of these delicate pipes! If you’re a big meat lover we suggest you try their Legendary Mutton Chop!
We hope you have an awesome time in New York!
