Rancho La Ofra offers trips for all abilities, with a minimum age limit of 12 years old. Enjoy the beautiful views of the valley before heading back to the ranch for food and drink!
The Santa Barbara Castle in Alicante dates back to the 10th century when the Moors occupied the area, but expanded over the years during different eras. This textbook castle has all the features you would expect: a moat, canons and even dungeons! Entry is free, so it’s a great family day out, with spectacular views over the city. If you’re visiting during July or August, there is also a programme of events that runs there during the evenings.
For eating out, you won’t be short of tapas bars to choose from- but finding a decent one can be surprisingly hard in Spain. Try and look for the authentic bars where locals are eating such as Cerveceria Sento. This tiny venue is cheap and cheerful offering traditional dishes such as melt in the mouth iberico ham, chorizo sausages and tortillas. Nightclubs in Spain don’t typically open, or even begin to get busy until about 2am, but if you can stay awake then La Mision is one of the city’s best loved clubs, spread over three floors. Alternatively Potato, in the port, is a chic bar often hosting live music performances where you can enjoy a few cocktails and get to bed at a more sensible hour!
