Holmwood House is another example of amazing architecture found in Glasgow. Designed by Alexander Greek Thompson, the building is now owned by the National Trust and is open for visitors to explore the intricate detail of this wonderful building. The building has previously been a school run by nuns, and was saved by the National Trust in 1994 who began restoration using donations – and the results so far have certainly paid off! At Christmas time there is a visit from Santa Claus and the house is themed to provide a traditional Victorian festive feel too, which is very popular for visitors with young children. There is also a very reasonably priced café on site as well.
