Berlin is steeped in history, with one of it’s most historical landmarks that sees visitors flock in their thousands to see is the Holocaust Memorial, dedicated to the Jews murdered in Europe. The underground exhibit shows some of the stories and images of the Holocaust, which are extremely emotive and will long live in the memory of visitors. The ‘Place of Information’ includes the names of all known Jewish Holocaust victims. Above ground is the main memorial, with a ‘stelae’ field of concrete blocks of different sizes. Audio guides are available for a small fee, but well worth the cost for additional information about some of the horrific events that took place during the Holocaust.
