Experience luxury right on the ramblas – 5 star – Barcelona

Experience luxury right on the ramblas with this luxurious secret hotel! This five star hotel is the perfect choice for those wanting to explore the sights and attractions of Barcelona. Las ramblas is the city’s most famous street, connecting Plaza Catalunya with the Colombus monument and marina. After a busy days sightseeing, guests can return back to their sumptuous guest rooms with cable LCD television, high speed internet and ensuite bathroom complete with complimentary toiletries. The property is serviced by 24 hour security and offers spa treatments, airport shuttles, city tours and parking. Those travelling on business will have access to first class facilities such as a banqueting centre, conference rooms, executive lounge and audio/visual equipment. Other facilities include a fitness center and lobby bar.

Walking down las ramblas you’ll encounter street performers and market stalls selling everything from baby bunnies to ice cream and souvenirs. Lining this iconic street are a concentration of tapas bars, and although many have outside seating, making them a perfect spot for people watching, the food here is not to be recommended if you’re after authentic fair! Café de la Opera is the exception to the rule here, dating back to the 18th century this now modernist café serves up some of the best churros and chocolate in the city.

At the end of las ramblas you’ll come to the sea, and you can follow the marina right round until you end up at Barceloneta Beach. There aren’t many cities in the world where you can sunbathe, play volleyball or have a go at some waterpsorts. If the weather permits, spending a morning here is a must. Pack a picnic with goodies from la boqueria food market, just off la rambla, or try one of the beach huts selling tapas and international classics. Most of the beachside cafes also have a bar with a ‘cocktail of the day’, but if you want to sip a margarita in style then head to the bar at the W hotel on the seafront. With floor to ceiling windows, you’ll experience unrivalled views of Barcelona. If you don’t fancy the cocktails here, you can still take the lift up to the viewing platform for free.

Art lovers must include a visit to the Picasso Museum, home to one of the largest collections of the celebrated artists works, many of which were donated by his wife. Alternatively the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya is a stunning building at the base of Montjuic which houses a vast collection of works including gothic masterpieces and sculptures.
